Good evening Salem Heights Families,
We’ve made it through the first week of school! It has been wonderful having everyone back in the building. There were a few minor rough patches, so we wanted to share some tips for a smooth next week.
This year school starts at 7:50am. everyday but Wednesdays, which are an hour later, at 8:50. We are asking that students be in the classroom and ready to learn by that time. This is a change from our 8:00a.m. start time last year. We will have supervision out front starting at 7:20 (8:20 on Wednesdays), so feel free to drop your student off early to be certain they are on time.
Please be sure to send your student with a mask everyday, and a spare if possible. We do have masks in the office for students who forget or dirty theirs during the day, but we are struggling to keep enough in stock to supply all the students who come to school without one.
Our families have done an excellent job communicating their student’s end of day plans with us, and letting us know if there are any changes. It is very important to us that each child reaches their destination safely, so please be sure to notify us of plan changes at least 15 minutes before the end of the day. Messages received during dismissal may not reach your child as they have already left their classroom.
And finally, if you plan to pick your student up at the church, please know it will require patience. We are all a bit out of practice with following this process for a full student body. Our staff is actively working to streamline and we promise it will get better. Please be kind as we work to improve.
Thank you for trusting us with your precious kiddos. We look forward to partnering with you in their education this year.
