Hello Racal Families,
The district released an update for Chromebooks this afternoon to help alleviate the many technology issues we ran into last week. Here’s what you need to know for tomorrow:
1) Your student’s Chromebook will need to be fully shut down and then restarted. Do this by holding the power key until it prompts you to shut down, give it a minute, then restart.
2) Apparently the Canvas and Seesaw Apps themselves were creating most of the problems we faced. We will be entering both through the district website from now on. This is your student’s homepage online, so it should still be easy to find.
3) You will need to reinstall the Zoom app on your student’s Chromebook when it gives the option. Our principal Mrs. Theis has recorded a video with step by step instructions for how to do this. Please consider taking a few minutes tonight to prepare your student’s device for a smooth school day tomorrow.
We know there have been a lot of phone calls, emails, and instructions over the past week, but the hope is that after following these steps everyone will have a much easier time in terms of technology. Thank you for your patience.
We love serving your students and are here to support you as we continue this journey together. If you run into trouble, our Homecoach tech support line is available until 6 every evening. You can access this service by calling the school and selecting the Homecoach option.
